About Us
"The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger." Job 17:9
Solid Foundation, Exciting Future…
Here’s a view of where we’ve been and where we are heading!
Believers’ Fellowship Church was founded in 1978. Pastors Wayne and Matti Friedt have faithfully preached the Word of Faith and have seen God do amazing things for 40 years.
On April 15, 2018, Pastor Wayne and Matti honorably resigned from their pastoral roles and turned the ministry over to their son, Jonathan and his wife Maria.
We have a deep desire to see God sweep through Lakeland with revival; to see God’s Glory manifest with signs and wonders through the hands of the body of Christ.
At Believers’ Fellowship we endeavor to create an atmosphere for people to have an encounter with God. Hence our motto, "with God … with people".
We Believe...
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God, which is the revelation, or rule of faith and conduct, given by God to mankind.
The Trinity
There is one God (YHVH), eternally existent, creator, of heaven and earth and the redeemer of mankind, revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
The Father
God is great: He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. It is in Him that we live, move, and exist. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.
The Son
Jesus Christ is completely human but, at the same time, completely God. We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, and in His miracles. He is the only plan for bringing people who are far from God back into a right relationship with God. He was the substitution for us in satisfying the Law’s demands for perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we can have life. He ascended to the right hand of the Father. He will return to this earth in power and glory to rule for a thousand years.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.
Salvation
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin and receive His nature. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. Jesus, God in the flesh, became the sinner crucified on the cross so that you and I could become sons (daughters) of God. He took our place and sin nature and killed it, satisfying the law’s demand. We can now be born again and receive His nature.
Salvation in (the) Greek is the word Sozo. Sozo literally means – Safety, Soundness, Healing, Deliverance, and Preservation. So when we receive salvation we receive safety, soundness, healing, deliverance, and preservation.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
The baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, according to Acts 2:4, is given to the believers who ask for it, for the endowment of power for life and service and the bestowment of the gifts of the Spirit and their uses in the work of service. Believers are not saved through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, they are given an additional anointing. An example of this is how the Holy Spirit lived in Jesus’ body yet still descended upon him before his earthly ministry began.
Eternity
Man is created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
